Model: NT14-1.3
The NT14-1.3 is a gamma-based level indicator used for watch or measurement functions in process applications. Because the measurement is non-contact, the sensor can be mounted on the outside of the process vessel — completely isolated from the medium, temperature and any build-up on the inside.
Typical applications
- Tank level monitoring in pulp and paper mills
- Level indication in bioenergy fuel silos
- Watch function on chip, pellet and sawdust hoppers in sawmills
- High/low level alarms on process equipment
How it works
A gamma beam passes from an encapsulated source straight through the process vessel to a detector. As material in the vessel rises above the measurement point, more radiation is absorbed and the signal drops — and vice versa. The result is a stable level indication that is unaffected by:
- Dust, steam or mist
- Build-up on the inside of the vessel
- High temperatures or pressures
- Corrosive or sticky materials
System interfaces
- Alarm outputs for high/low level
- Analog 4–20 mA for continuous indication
- Diagnostics for source status and detector health
